1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Voter Naija (voternaija.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. What Voter Naija Is

Voter Naija is an independent, community-run platform for Nigerian citizens to share their voting intentions — who they plan to vote for in upcoming elections. It is a tool for civic expression and community sentiment, not an official electoral system.

• Results displayed are not official election results.
• Voter Naija is not affiliated with INEC, any government body, or any political party.
• Data represents community sentiment only and should not be treated as a scientific poll or prediction.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (the minimum voting age in Nigeria) to use this platform. By using Voter Naija, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Permitted Use

You may use Voter Naija to:

• Share your genuine voting intention for Nigerian elections.
• Read and engage with community voices and vote tallies.
• Download and share your personal vote card image for civic expression.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent votes or comments.
• Use automated tools, bots, VPNs, or proxies to manipulate vote counts.
• Post comments that are defamatory, hateful, threatening, obscene, or that incite violence or ethnic/religious tension.
• Impersonate any person, party, or organisation.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the platform's infrastructure.
• Use the platform for any commercial or political advertising purpose.
• Violate any applicable Nigerian law, including the Electoral Act and the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act.

6. User Content

When you submit a comment or reason, you grant Voter Naija a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform. You retain ownership of your content. You are solely responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem harmful to the community, without prior notice.

7. One Vote Per Race

Each browser/device is limited to one vote per election race. This is enforced via a hashed device fingerprint. Attempting to circumvent this limit (e.g. using multiple browsers, VPNs, or clearing cookies) violates these Terms and undermines the integrity of the community tally.

8. Disclaimers

• The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• Vote tallies are community sentiment indicators, not scientific polls or election forecasts.
• We do not guarantee uptime or data accuracy.
• We are not responsible for decisions made based on information displayed on this platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Voter Naija and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of reputation, or reliance on vote tallies.

10. Intellectual Property

All platform design, code, branding, and non-user-generated content is the property of Voter Naija. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial civic sharing (e.g. sharing your vote card image).

11. Sponsored Content & Third-Party Links

Voter Naija may display sponsored content cards from community-aligned partners. By using the platform you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Sponsored cards are clearly labelled "Sponsored" and are distinct from editorial or community content.
• Clicking a sponsored link takes you to a third-party website. Voter Naija is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site.
• We do not endorse any advertiser's products, services, or views beyond confirming that the sponsor meets our community-alignment criteria (civic empowerment, voter education, or community awareness).
• Sponsors have no editorial control over vote tallies, community voices, or any other content on Voter Naija.
• You may dismiss any sponsored card at any time using the ✕ button. Dismissal is stored in your browser's sessionStorage only — no data is sent to the advertiser.
• Voter Naija accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your interaction with a sponsored third-party website.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
